Steve Molitor “The Canadian Kid”

My story began in Sarnia, Ontario where I grew up playing hockey, baseball and eventually boxing. The first time I stepped in the boxing gym at nine years old I knew I would be a champion and from that moment on I did whatever it took to be the best. As a child I would ride my bike every day across town, miss out on parties and other events. When I turned 20 I packed a hockey bag full of clothes and with no money moved into a tiny room in a Toronto boxing gym. From there I became the Canadian champ in 2002, the Commonwealth champ in 2002, the NABA champ in 2004, and the IBF World Champion in 2006 and again in 2010. There are four things that have made me the two time world champion I am today. These include hard-work, dedication, heart and support from everyone who has believed in me along the way. I have had to sacrifice and endure a lot to get to where I am but I still continue to train up to eight hours a day, follow a strict diet and give boxing everything I have. I used to do this for the love of the sport and although I still love boxing for the most part I have a family that means the world to me and I give 110% everyday so that they have everything. I have so many people to thank for my success but most importantly Allan Tremblay for all his hard work, my trainer Chris Johnson, a 1992 Olympic bronze medalist who re-built me into a professional champion, my dad and brother for making me the man I am today, my sons, Jetley and Steel, for giving me the drive to succeed and my beautiful wife, Tiffany, who has stood by me through thick and thin and always had my back.
